Description

F G Adamson & Son is a major supplier of garden machinery / groundscare equipment in Yorkshire & Lincolnshire, supplying equipment & supporting maintenance & repair services to golf courses, local authorities, caravan parks, contractors, private estates & homeowners.  Across our sites at Swanland, East Yorkshire and Langworth, Lincolnshire we currently employ approximately forty- five members of staff and now require to recruit a Driver / Machinery Installer to work from our Swanland Depot.

Job Description:  to manage and undertake collection / deliveries of machinery, primarily within our main trading areas of Yorkshire & Lincolnshire, thereby providing support to the Sales & Aftersales Departments.  This will include the delivery and handover of equipment to customers, therefore the provision of instructions on the safe / correct use of the equipment.  Equipment for collection and delivery will include compact tractors, utility vehicles and mowing equipment.

Essential Duties:

  • Plan & undertake delivery and collection runs in an efficient, cost effective manner, whilst also meeting customer need and providing customer satisfaction
  • Deliver / collect goods and equipment to / from customer premises or otherwise notified sites
  • Where required, provide a ‘Machinery Handover’ to the customer, providing information as to the safe / correct use of the equipment – complete appropriate paperwork
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure efficient collection & delivery services
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries / collections
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records as required via current legislation – e.g.  tachograph charts, driver logs etc
  • Undertake the correct follow-on procedures after collection / delivery to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Undertake daily checks of vehicles used & maintain records
  • Maintain vehicles in clean / tidy condition

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Cat 1 licence or equivalent
  • Current CPC qualification
  • 2+ years driving a vehicle that requires above licence / qualifications
  • Machinery installation experience & certification desirable but not essential as fully training & certification will be provided
  • Excellent customer care / relationship skills, with key focus on customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work extended / flexible hours and weekends
  • Excellent attitude, honesty, integrity & professionalism
  • Clean driving licence
